Follow the path of the Royal Canal Greenway eastwards to the college town of Maynooth with super spots to stop off along the way like Killucan, Hill of down, Enfield, Kilcock or maybe consider staying overnight in Maynooth and returning the next day for a 2 day trip.

Scenic cycling journey along the picturesque, peaceful slow moving 200 year old Royal Canal Greenway Traffic free cycling path, passing through bogland, forests and old canal lock gates, lock house coages and, limestone bridges, Cyclists can enjoy the natural beauty and tranquillity of the area, with plenty of spots to rest and take in the views, with lots of opons to stop off for lunch or a cuppa at Mullingar Pewter cafe / gift shop 8km, Cunninghams Pub & Sweet shop 14km, Nanny Quinn's Restaurant 16km, if you're feeling up to a longer day out this route can be extended all the way to Enfield 42km out, Kilcock 54km out & Maynooth 65km out all following the same Royal Canal Greenway traffic Free cycle path.
