Follow the path of the historic old disused Railway line to Athlone Town with beautiful old disused railway stations along the way with stop offs in Castletown, Streamstown, & Moate or why not stay overnight in Athlone and make it a fun 2 day trip!!

Scenic cycling journey along the picturesque, peaceful slow moving 200 year old Royal Canal Greenway Traffic free cycling path and linking on to the Old Rail Trail greenway, passing through bogland, limestone bridges, old railway station platforms, Cyclists can enjoy the natural beauty and tranquillity of the area, with plenty of spots to rest and take in the views, with option to stop off for lunch or a cuppa at Jacks Stop Cafe /Kids Playground, if you're feeling up to a longer day out this route can be extended all the way to Moate and Dun na Si Amenity park 32km out or the bustling town of Athlone 42km
